RGV, also known as rail-type automatic guided vehicle, is widely used in logistics systems and station production lines, such as warehouse platforms, various buffer stations, conveyors, elevators, line stations, etc. According to the plans and instructions of material transportation, It can significantly reduce transportation costs and improve transportation efficiency.

The application scenarios of RGV are relatively simple and can be classified and identified in two ways. First, according to the function, it can be divided into two types: assembly type RGV trolley and transportation type RGV vehicle, which are mainly used for material transportation, workshop assembly, etc.; second, according to the movement mode, it can be divided into ring rail type and linear reciprocating type and ring type. The rail-type RGV vehicle system is highly efficient and multiple vehicles can work at the same time. Usually there is only one linear reciprocating RGV trolley, which performs linear reciprocating motion, and its efficiency is lower than that of the circular motion RGV trolley system.

Structurally, an RGV car is mainly composed of a frame, driving wheels, follower wheels, front and rear bumpers, chain conveyors, communication systems, electrical systems and various covers. RGV vehicles have a simple structure, strong anti-interference ability to the external environment, extensive requirements for operators, strong operational stability, relatively few faults, relatively low overall maintenance costs, and high reliability. This is also because the RGV trolley can only walk on the track. Once the route of the RGV trolley is determined, it is relatively difficult to modify it, so its adaptability to the use site and its own scalability are relatively average.
